Printable Events ScheduleCome to Springville Fun Days for a weekend of food, fun, and entertainment for the entire family! Friday the engines roar at the ECIPA Truck and Tractor Pull. This year semis will be added to the pull lineup and the competition ends with an antique steam engine light show. After the pull head down and listen to the Little Bar Band at the American Legion.

Saturday is packed with activities like a pancake breakfast, Extreme 6K Quarry Run, parade, Cedar Rapids Corvette Club Show and Shine, vendor fair, and bags tournament. Kids can play at the Kid’s Zone with a $10 wrist band and help Wendling Quarries celebrate its 60th Anniversary by taking a tour into the depths of the quarry.

Treat yourself on Saturday to delicious pancakes at the Presbyterian Church’s pancake breakfast and end the day at the American Legion’s annual pork loin dinner. If you love rocking to live music, admission is free Saturday night starting at 6 pm when STPA presents Dogs with Skis with guest Otis Road. At dusk fireworks will light up the sky and then The Little Bar Band plays at the American Legion.

Sunday evening at 6 pm bring a blanket or lawn chair to the gazebo for live gospel music.

8:00 am:
Springville Extreme 6K Quarry Run

Starting Line at the Corner of Broadway & 4th ST

Runners will start in downtown Springville, head west of town and traverse a steep descent down into the working Wendling Quarry. While in the depths of the quarry they will travel through a tunnel, blasted through the rock under Highway 151, turn around, come back through the tunnel and back up an aggressive ascent before finishing downtown. Awards will be given for top finishers of the 6K, both overall and age division. Within the race itself, the fastest male and female to run up the hill in the quarry will be crowned King and Queen of the Hill Challenge.

With the gracious support of Wendling Quarries, Inc., this event has been organized as a fundraiser to help support new playground equipment for the new Springville Community School Elementary Building.

Entries line up starting at 9 am at the Springville High School, 400 Academy Street

No registration needed. Parade Route: Parade will travel on Mill Avenue east from the high school. From the corner of Mill Ave and Broadway route goes north on Broadway, west on 3rd Ave and south on 5th Street. Sponsored by the Springville Parks Board. Wendling Quarries 60th Anniversary Open House

Park behind former Springville Elementary (602 Mill Avenue) and ride free shuttle to quarry

Wendling Quarries wants you to join them for free family fun for our 60th-anniversary open house at our Springville quarry. Kids games and activities, heavy equipment demonstrations and displays, plus a free lunch for the first two-thousand visitors! Park at the ballfields behind the Springville elementary and ride the free shuttle through our tunnel that goes under Highway 151. The fun begins at 10 a.m., right after the one-of-a-kind extreme quarry run four-mile race.

 

10:30 am:
STPA Bags Tournament

STPA Park, located just North of the Springville Elementary School, 162 Barnes Parkway

8:30 am check-in and practice.
All fees are non-refundable.
Two person teams.
Pre-registration: kids $20 & adults $30
Non-refundable entry fee per team of 2 and prior to Wednesday, August 8th.
Day of tournament: kids $30 & adults $40 per team of 2.
Concessions and beer tent on-site. NO COOLERS.
Come and watch your favorite team compete.

STPA Presents Dogs on Skis with Guest Otis Road

FREE Admission. Otis Road 5:30. Dogs on Skis 7:30 pm. At dusk the concert will break for a fireworks show. Concessions and beer tent available on-site. Bring your lawn chair or a blanket. NO COOLERS.
